SPINE Meets Citizens in Žilina

As part of European Mobility Week, the city of Žilina, in collaboration with the University of Žilina (UNIZA) and local partners, organized a pop-up exhibition dedicated to the SPINE project and its contribution to more sustainable, accessible, and user-friendly urban mobility.

The exhibition provided an opportunity to introduce citizens to the SPINE project and present the solutions and measures being implemented in Žilina to increase public transport ridership, improve passenger satisfaction, and strengthen multimodality across the city. Visitors could learn more about innovative solutions such as the multimodal journey planner, smart parking management, and digital information screens for public transport, as well as how these measures can support easier and more convenient everyday travel.

An important part of the event was the official launch of the public transport user satisfaction survey, prepared by UNIZA in cooperation with the city of Žilina and the Žilina Public Transport Company (DPMŽ). The survey aims to collect valuable feedback directly from citizens about their experiences with public transport, their level of satisfaction with existing mobility services and solutions, and the areas where further improvements are needed.

The results will help the SPINE partners better understand users’ needs and identify opportunities for improving public transport services, multimodal connections, accessibility, and the overall travel experience in Žilina. By placing citizens’ experiences at the center of the process, the initiative supports the development of mobility solutions that respond to real everyday needs.

The survey is open from 15 September to 15 November 2026, and citizens are encouraged to participate and share their views. Their feedback will provide an important contribution to shaping a smarter, greener, and more people-oriented mobility system in Žilina.

Every journey provides an experience-and every opinion can help Žilina move towards greener, more sustainable mobility.
