EU Council and Parliament Seal Deal for a Future-Ready Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T)

The Council and Parliament negotiators have reached a provisional agreement on the revised regulation for the trans-European transport network (TEN-T), aiming to create a reliable, seamless, and sustainable connectivity infrastructure across Europe. The legislation sets ambitious goals, including completion deadlines for the three-layered TEN-T network, prioritizing greener transport and decarbonization. The agreement addresses rail and road transport, urban nodes, air transport, governance, and financial safeguards. The compromise aligns national plans with EU policy and extends corridors to Ukraine and Moldova, downgrading connections with Russia and Belarus.
